Today we decided to take the boys on their first canoe ride. We knew this could be tons of fun...or it just as easily could go very, very badly! Luckily, it was GREAT! The boys were really good, nobody got too wet, and we even caught some fish! Definitely an outing we will repeat!
Just riding...Ben allowed me to take a few quick breaks from paddling to snap some pictures...I know he REALLY missed my powerful oar-strokes!!

Jonas really got into the fishing. Ben fished for about 10 minutes first, and was just getting a few nibbles. Then, as soon as he started handing the pole off to the boys...
Jonas caught a nice bass!!! He was REALLY excited!
Miles was also pleased with his first fish ever!

Just hanging out with mom...this was my position for supervising and making sure nobody got too excited and tipped the canoe over. And, since I don't touch live fish (I have no problem stabbing a hook through a worm, though) my position here at the end of the canoe was perfect.

Party boat...
Miles fell asleep on the way back. He has my sweatshirt on OVER his lifejacket. He didn't wake up when we lifted him out of the canoe, took the lifejacket off, and buckled him into his carseat. Nor did he wake up when moved from carseat to bed. And he's still napping! A sure sign of a very fun outing! Now, to the grocery store in preparation for our fish fry tonight!

way fun! Uncle Ben really didn't catch anything? Just the boys? I'm sure they thought that was so cool that they actually caught the fish! Miles sleeping in the canoe is precious!
